Basically this last week has been a whirlwind. We had an excellent (although too short), visit with Auntie Barb, who came to visit us from Nixa Missouri. We enjoyed introducing her to some of our favorite things like: Indian food, shopping, Central Park, St John "of the Vine"- and the street fair, downtown sightseeing, the Guggenheim, Stanten Island ferry, Pier 17- which was a new one for us, oh yes, and the Columbus Day parade on 5th Ave. right after church. Not to mention all of the other wonderful stops along the way. Barbara was really good luck for us as far as transportation goes- we always had a bus or subway waiting for us just when we needed it! We tried to keep her here longer, but you know there is that thing called reality that really gets in the way of our plans!!
Talk about a whirlwind....Zachary turned 12 on October 10th and he has now reached "manhood", as he informed us that he is no longer a child. He didn't want any kid stuff for his birthday, so we took him to the place that he has been waiting patiently to go, The Fossil Store! So now he has a "man" watch and it seems to make him very happy! Zach received the Priesthood on Sunday and now is a deacon in the church.
Joe left on Sunday night to go back to the "Burg" to build chests for an installation in Jefferson City, then Barb had to leave us on Monday- we were very sad, but ready to rest our feet for a minute! We will be glad when Joe gets back on Saturday; a big hearty Thank You to the Youngs and Babcocks for letting Joe stay with you. We have the greatest friends and family on earth; that goes for everyone near and far!

How excellent! Sounds like you guys know how to show someone a good time. We'd love to come and visit you guys sometime... We'd even come out to the "Burg" to do it :D
And the watch was an excellent choice. Very manly.
By all means, our doors are always open! We still have some time left here ya know, and there are a few more things to do and see- however, you have been here and have never experienced "the Burg" for yourselves- who knows it could be one of your favorite places on earth...or not, we'll let you decide!
I have to say I had a fantasic time and I wish I could have stayed longer. We had a great time and tried to pack as much as we could into the few days then I had. Thank you so much for having me.
