I have been in denial for some time now, perhaps even 4 months, but we are all warming up to the idea. I thought Eli would take it the hardest, but in fact he has been the most delighted and has certainly prayed the hardest to get a little brother (everyone else was hoping for a girl). He is thrilled that he will not be the baby of the family anymore, and that he will have someone to teach all the important things to, like playing Legos and other such great things. Hopefully he will be able to deal with the inevitable noises that said small child will most certainly make- he has been known to make fairly direct comments to our friends who have babies, like: "Where is that thing you can put in their mouth that will make them be quiet?" He is obviously my child- I don't know where I get my hyper sense of hearing from, but my over zealous use of the "please be quiet" type phrases has rubbed off on him for sure!
So it sure is a good thing we got rid of everything a few years ago! Where would the fun be if we were actually prepared for such an event, right? I am still trying to brace myself for the long hot, muggy summer and the prospect of having Joe out of town for July, August and part of September. We are hoping he can at least come home to be present at the blessed event! What can we say, we have just impeccable timing!

so does the blue mean his prayers worked and it is infact a little brother? Congratulations and I hope you're feeling alright!!
Yay!! I'm so excited for you and the family!
I've experienced the denial of which you speak! lol
When we had our "whoops-a-baby" a few years back, I went into my doctor's office and demanded to know "how did this happen?!" He looked at me sideways and said "Do I really need to explain that to you?" He then told me "Remember '97% effective' means 3% not effective--you're a statistic, deal with it!"
But our family has been so blessed to have that boy. After he was born I realized he was the best idea we never had!
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations! Our last baby is the best gift I have ever given to my kids.
Holy cow I am missing out on everything!!! Congratulations! Last time you were pregnant you were in the YW presidency and I was in Young Womens! :) Maybe this one will be a 'taur pooper' as well, eh? lol

no way! For real? Life throws you curve balls huh? How old is your youngest? Nontheless..it is a blessing and I'm thrilled for you! Just think of all the little helpers you'll have.
Funny thing (this is Beth formally known as Sullivan by the way). I was reading some bio that Gayla did for the relief society and it said something about expecting her 25th grandchild. I was trying to figure out who was prego again. Congrats on the surprise 5th. I hope everything goes wonderful for you and the new addition.
You are, in every way, such wonderful people and to think that another little spirit gets to join your family makes me smile from ear-to-ear. Congratulations and love from all of us to all of you!
Wow! What exciting news! I hope you're feeling well! I was a surprise 5th child! This baby's got to sneak right in to complete your family!
